Pasta Tomato Sauce

Delicious tomato sauce made with garlic and dried Italian herbs

Ingredients

  • 2x400 gram canned Italian Tomatoes blended
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 2 large cloves garlic grated
  • 2 green chillies finely chopped
  • 2 tsp dried Italian Herbs
  • pinch of chilli flakes
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • salt
  • fresh Basil (optional)

Instructions

  • Add the olive oil and onion to a medium saucepan and sauté on a low heat until the onions are translucent
  • Add the chilli and garlic and cook for a minute
  • Mix in the dried herbs
  • Add the blended tomatoes
  • Season with salt and add the sugar. Sprinkle in the chilli flakes
  • Simmer on a low heat for 30-45 minutes until sauce reduces and tomatoes are cooked. Oil will surface to the top when ready
  • Serve with your favourite pasta. Garnish with some fresh basil
