Panettone French Toast

The perfect breakfast treat, Panettone French toast. Bread dipped in custard and toasted with a drizzle of maple syrup, totally yummy!

Ingredients

  • 4 slices panettone bread
  • 1-2 tbsp butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup full cream milk
  • pinch of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tspn vanilla essence
  • maple syrup

Instructions

  • Beat the eggs, milk, vanilla essence and cinnamon together and set aside
  • Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a large pan on medium heat
  • Dip each slice of bread in the custard, turn to ensure both sides are covered. Toast in the butter for about a minute on each side until golden brown. You may only be able to toast 2 slices at a time depending on the size of your pan. You can add more butter when toasting the other 2 slices
  • Serve warm with a drizzle of maple syrup or a dusting of icing sugar and berries
