Easy Macaroni and Cheese
Easy to make and so delicious, this Macaroni and Cheese is a keeper

- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 3 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon chilli powder
- 2 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3 tablespoon cake wheat or all purpose flour
- 3 cups milk
- salt
- pepper
- 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- 1 cup mozarella cheese
Cook pasta as per package instructions, in some salted water
Melt butter in a large pan on low heat. Add the garlic powder, onion powder, chilli powder, paprika and Italian herbs. Allow it to fry in the butter for about a minute
Add the flour and cook for about 2 minutes. Slowly add in the milk and mix
Simmer until the sauce thickens, should take about 15 minutes
Remove from the heat and add the cooked pasta and the cheddar cheese
You can sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top and pop it into the oven, using the grill function until the cheese melts and turns golden brown. This takes about 10 minutes and totally optional
- You can make this dish totally on the stovetop. If you feel the cheese is too much you can reduce it although it is Macaroni and Cheese and it needs loads of cheese
- Do not add the cheese to the sauce whilst it's still cooking. It will curdle and look a mess
- I prefer to remove the sauce from the heat after it's cooked and add the pasta first and then the cheese just to be safe
- The oven step is totally optional, if you're prefer a more saucy pasta then omit this step as the sauce does thicken in the oven
