Creamy Basil Mushrooms

These are the perfect mushrooms to serve on toast, if you're feeling indulgent

Ingredients

  • 250 gram white or brown mushroom sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 large cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp dried italian herbs
  • 1/3 cup fresh basil chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh cream
  • 1 tbsp grated parmesan
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  • Heat the butter in a large pan. Add the onion and saute until translucent. Add the minced garlic and fry for a minute
  • Add the mushroom, dried italian herbs and the chopped basil. Fry until the mushrooms are slightly caramelized
  • Add the cream. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for a minute, add the parmesan and drizzle the lemon juice over
  • Serve hot, garnish with more fresh basil and more parmesan

Notes

  1. This recipe can be served with pasta, if it's for a family you can double the recipe
  2. Will be great with any protein too
  3. You can adjust the quantity of the lemon juice according to your taste
