Servings: 4
- 8 sausages of your choice
- 1/4 cup water see note 1
- 1x 410gram baked beans
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 large onion thinly sliced
- 2-3 green chillies
- 1 sprig curry leaf
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 2-3 tsp masala
- 1 tsp kashmiri chilli powder
- 1 roma tomato chopped or pureed, see note 2
- salt
- coriander for garnishing
Add the water to a large pan. Add the sausages and allow it to steam on a medium to low heat, turning it over once
Once the water dries out allow the sausages to fry until golden brown. If it's lamb sausages you don't need to add oil but if any other sausages are being cooked add about 1 tablespoon of oil
Remove the sausages from the pan. If there's lots of fat in the pan, remove it. If it's not a very fatty sausage add the oil and let it heat up. Add the onion and fry until translucent. Add the curry leaf and green chilli. Add the garlic paste and fry for a minute until the raw smell disappears
Add the masala, chilli powder and turmeric. Cook that for a minute
Add the tomato and allow that to cook for about 5 minutes. Add the baked beans. Season with salt
Return the sausages to the pot and cook for a couple of minutes. Garnish with coriander
1. The sausages are steamed in water so that it can preserve the moisture resulting in juicy sausages
2. You can blanch the tomatoes and puree them or chop them up. If you prefer a little chunkiness then rather chop them
3. Use any sausages of your choice
4. The heat level can be adjusted according to your taste. Add more or less masala and green chillies
5. Fry some eggs and cherry tomatoesÂ
