Asian Sticky Wings

Ingredients

  • 1.1 kg chicken wings
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar
  • 5 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp chilli sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp finely grated ginger

Instructions

  • Mix all the ingredients together. In a large bowl mix the chicken wings with the marinade. Refrigerate for 1 hour
  • Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius
  • Shake off the excess marinade from the wings , reserve leftover marinade
  • Line a baking tray with baking paper and spread the wings on the tray
  • Bake for 45-55 minutes. Baste with the remaining marinade in between baking time
  • The meat should come of the bone easily and the wings should be slightly charred on the edges, when done

Notes

  1. I prefer cutting my wings into little wingettes/drumettes
  2. I tried to use ingredients I always have at hand. You can use some chinese cooking wine or rice vinegar if you prefer. I used regular white vinegar
